India Launch its Most Powerful and Heaviest Rocket GSLV Mk-III.

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) launched its most powerful and heaviest rocket yet on Monday (June 5), sending a communications satellite into orbit in a successful debut flight. The launch vehicle is Geo Stationary Launch Vehicle (GSLV) Mark III, which is heaviest such vehicle of India lifted off from Satish Dhawan Space Center Sriharikota(Andhra Pradesh), successfully delivering the massive GSAT-19 communications satellite into orbit.ISRO

  • It(GSLV Mk III) is the most powerful and heaviest Launch Vehicle of India.
  • It successfully delivered GSAT-19 in its orbit.
  • It is capable of carrying payloads of up to 4,000 kg into the Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) and 10,000 kg into the Low Earth Orbit., Now India will not depend on other countries for launch of heavy satellites.
  • Weight of GSLV Mk III is 640 tones i.e. 6 lakh 40 thousand kg.
  • Named as "Fat Boy"
  • It has cryogenic engine which use liquid oxygen and hydrogen as propellants. Apart from India 5 other countries developed and deployed cryogenic engine.


  • It is a communication satellite, expected to enhance India’s communication infrastructure.
  • placed into a Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO), 16 minutes after launch, with a perigee (closest point to Earth) 170 km and apogee (farthest point from Earth) 35,975 km.
  • The satellite weighs 3,136 kg.

Habibganj Railway Station to become 1st Private Railway Station Of India.

Habibganj in the suburbs of Bhopal will redefine the concept of a railway station in India. The country’s first railway station to be redeveloped as a public-private partnership (PPP).

The operation and maintenance responsibilities for the station have been given to Bhopal-based Bansal Group for a period of eight years. It has also received four land parcels on a 45-year lease. Bansal Group will invest Rs100 crore to overhaul the station which was opened in 1979, and around Rs350 crore to develop four commercial land parcels adding up to 17,245 sq. m.

On 9 June, railway minister Suresh Prabhu will launch commencement of the station re-development work in Bhopal. The Habibganj railway station will be designed as a world-class transit hub, with a central concourse equipped with amenities for waiting passengers; arriving and departing passengers will be segregated. The environment-friendly station will be powered by solar energy and has facilities for the differently-abled

Naturalists in India have rediscovered after nearly 80 years, a rare flowering plant – Arisaema translucens. This plant was first discoverd by Botanist Edward Barnes in 1932 fro the Nilgiri Mountains in South India. The plant, commonly called a cobra lily and noted for its translucent spathe

The team also collected specimens of another rare cobra lily species, Arisaema tuberculatum from the Nilgiris.
