Ministry of Home Affair released a notice regarding vacancy of IB ACIO Grade II/Executive officers, And Exam will be held on 15th October 2017. Now all aspirants wants to start preparation for the exam. Candidate with hard work,punctual, positive thinking and preparing for exam in right direction will be success. In this article, we'll cover complete subject-wise IB ACIO exam preparation strategy.

IB ACIO Preparation Strategy for Tier 1 Exam

First thing you've to do is that, you've to read official notificaion of IB ACIO. If you read and understand it thoroughly this mean you're now 20% prepared for the exam.The Ministry of Home Affairs(MHA) will conduct ACIO in three stages: Tier 1, Tier 2 and Interview. This time Exam Pattern and Syllabus will be different than previous year exams.

IB ACIO Preparation Strategy for Tier 1 Exam

There will be four Section in exam viz: Reasoning, Quant Aptitude,English and General Awareness. Each section consist 25 Question where 1 mark for correct question and a negative marking 0.25 mark for each wrong answer. Total Marks will be 100, time for that will be 60 minutes. Mode of Examination will be offline.

Reasoning Ability

  • The pattern and difficulty level of this section is similar to SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam.
  • Section will be scoring for you if you've prepared CGL level exam and if not then start preparing for the exam according to the syllabus of IB ACIO Exam.

Quantitative Aptitude

If you've prepared for CGL or Bank PO then this section will be easy to moderate for you. And will be scoring. You've to only do that is practice, practice and practice. And if you are not prepared for any then start according to syllabus. Practice is the key point here.

English Section:

  • The number of questions from each topic is not known as the exam pattern has changed. But it is expected to be the same as SSC CGL Exam.
  • Do not skip any topic in this portion as it will be the game changer in this exam.

General Awareness

This section will be different from exam like SSC CGL. You've to prepare this in deep. Question will be asked like UPSC Exams.

A candidate have to cover this section in depth. He/She must go through all sections.

Current Affairs

  • Awards: Both National & International related to Sports, Literature, Science and Technology, Film and Festival.
  • Defence: Bilateral Agreement between India & Other Countries.
  • Books and Authors, Sports (National & International), Current Events, Banking and Economy


Read both Indian and World Geography. Questions related to Oceans, Volcanoes, Soil, Countries.


  • Making of Indian Constitution
  • Amendments, New Bills, Act
  • Parliament
  • Courts
  • Fundamental Rights and Duties, Directive Principles and State Policy


  • Buddha and Jaina
  • Medieval and Modern History.
  • Freedom strugle
  • Science

    Questions related to daily uses of science are asked. Read all three Biology, Physics and Chemistry in detail.
